About

Christine Laverock is an experienced independent trainer, group facilitator, coach and mentor based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Through running her own Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) accredited training centre over many years Christine has built up a wealth of knowledge of leadership and management theories and styles which continues to inform her training, facilitation and coaching. Her skills include understanding different personality types, developing emotional intelligence, fostering collaboration and promoting effective teamworking.

Christine is a member of the Association for Coaching and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Since 2021, she has also been a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Care Development East – an organisation providing training and advice to those working in the care sector in East Anglia.

Over her working life, she has supported a range of public and voluntary sector organisations with management and leadership development programmes. Activities have ranged from mentoring and coaching senior leaders, facilitating Away Days and team building events with groups of staff and managers through to teaching the principles of effective management. She particularly focuses on working alongside managers facing challenges with their staff and/or their organisation using a coaching/action learning approach to problem solving.

The effect of Climate Change has become more important in her life and in the lead up to COP26 (2021) she led a series of workshops to broaden understanding of the seriousness of the situation and this has led to continuing actions across the local area in collaboration with local churches, the Town Council and Transition Woodbridge.

In the past she has also worked in education as a schools inspector with OFSTED, a Performance Management Consultant and an External Adviser to schools. She has also held supervisory and management positions in local government and with Barclays Bank plc.

For twelve years until 2005, Christine was a member of Suffolk Police Authority, becoming Vice Chair for seven years and then Chair for four years. During that time she was involved in a very successful strategic initiative called Suffolk 1st which underpinned high levels of performance alongside ambitious investment in extra police officers and forensic science leading to a significant reduction in crime.
